Bozeman, MT to Anaconda, MT
We are on our way to stay at the Marcus Daly Motel with John's firefighter buddy and his lady friend (Lois) to play golf the next day at the Jack Nicklaus designed Old Works Golf Course.
Bill showed us the Washoe theater. It was the last theater constructed in the United States in Nuevo Deco. The theater was designed in 1930 by Seattle architect B. Marcus Priteca. It was almost entirely finished by 1931, but it's opening was delayed until September 24, 1936 because of the Great Depression. In 1936 dollars, its construction cost was a grand $200,000 (equivalent to over 4 million in 2019). The Smithsonian rates the Washoe as a national treasure due to the lavish interior. April 30, 1982 the theater was listed on the U.S. Nat'l Register of Historic Places.
We then strolled around town stopped at a couple of bars for some drinks. Went back to the room, rested a bit before dinner. Lois and Bill have a routine when they come to Anaconda of stopping at the Club Medona for a drink and free popcorn and Bill has them make him reservations for the well known restaurant Barclay's Supper Club and Lounge. So, we followed with there tradition. OMG!!! We ordered steak dinner except Lois who was smart and order a shrimp dish. The steaks were HUGE!!! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the steaks. The food was delicious, great atmosphere and amazing serve. All I can say is we were STUFFED!!!!!
