June 14, 2019 - Friday
Hamilton, Mt - Kalispell, Mt

Today we are on our way to Kalispell, Mt.  Lois and Bill are headed out of town also to Coeur d'alene for Father's Day weekend.  We headed out 45 minutes before them to get Tessie recharged and then we met up for breakfast at the Montana Club in Missoula.  Now we are on our way to another historic town of Kalispell.  This town was only picked because this is were we needed to charge.  It was an easy drive for a couple of hours.  As we were driving, I noticed several town signs in English and another language I had never seen.  After doing some research, I learned the other language is Salish.  This language is spoken by the Flathead, Kalispell and Spokane Indians. The Salish Kootenai College is a private Native American tribal college in Pablo, Mt.  It serves the Bitterroot Salish, Kootenai, and Pend d'Oreilles tribes.

We have arrived at the hotel which is also Tessie's charging spot.  Bill suggested we play golf at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course.  We took him up on the suggestion and had a great time.  Whitefish is only 20 minutes from Kalispell.  We were paired up with another local single gentlemen (Randy) and had a great time.  The fairways are a bit bumpy, the greens rolled very well and the rough was tough to get out of.  On about 3 holes you have to look in the mirror to see if the fairway is clear.  Thank goodness Randy was with us.  We were looking around on these holes to see where is the mirror.  On one hole they have a faint yellow box painted on the cart path for you to stand to look in the mirror.  We would have never figured this out on our own.

After golf and Johnny being hungry for his pizza, he asked Randy for a suggestion.  We told him we are staying in Kalispell and immediately he said "You gotta go to Moose's".  Ok, we packed up the clubs and headed to Moose's Saloon for Pizza.  Only thing Randy didn't tell us is, it's CASH only.  Seems like a lot of places don't take credit cards, especially Bars.  Thank goodness we have cash or Johnny wasn't gonna get his pizza.  I thought the pizza was just OK, Johnny thought better than OK.  Not really much of a place, it's dark, peanut shells on the floor, no waitresses, you ordered at a window, take a seat and they bring to you.
